Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an alpaca and llama

Often confused, Alpacas and Llamas differ significantly in size, appearance, and purpose. Llamas are much larger, usually weighing up to 200 Kgs (450 pounds) with long banana-shaped ears, coarse fur, and a brave, independent nature that makes them excellent pack and guard animals.

Alpacas are roughly half the size, featuring short, pointy ears, blunt faces, and a gentle nature.

Unlike sturdy Llamas, Alpacas are kept primarily for their luxurious, incredibly soft fleece.
